Our Supper

Tonight we have sweetened sweet potato soup for supper from my mum, beside the key ingredient sweet potato, she also added gingko, red dates and dried long yen. Serve it hot especially during this raining season and it tasted simply delicious, to me it is a comfort food.

I bought my mum a $4.80 mini strawberry strudel from 'Ritz Apple Strudel' at Kovan. The 3 of us (my mum, desmond and me) went straight to bed with a full stomach after having the sweetened sweet potato soup and strudel.

My Christmas Gifts

I decided to snap some pictures of all my Christmas gifts before unwrapping it. Other than the gifts above, I also received 2 books from two of my church sisters, not sure when can I finish reading the 2 books as I'm a very slower reader and always tend to fall asleep when I start reading.

This giant wasabi tube was actually a toilet roll cover which i received from my colleague Soon Teck aka Xiaodi. I cannot stop laughing when I inserted a roll of toilet paper into it, it is so cute. He must have noticed that I like wasabi alot. And I would like to say a big thank you for all the wonderful Christmas gifts that I have received this year. Hope you guys like my gift :)

I Found A Treasure

Few days ago, as I was searching for ribbon to do my christmas gift wrapping I found this 'Da Tou Tie'. This family 'Da Tou Tie' was taken in year 1999 at Singapore Changi Airport. I can't believe it, this was taken 9 years ago.

Beautiful Poem

This poem version was written in 1963 by Carolyn Joyce Carty. There have been a couple other versions since then by other poets in addition to the 'author unknown' edition. It is an inspirational poem/story of a deep nature and also referred to as a prayer.

Enjoy and share it with loved ones and friends...

Car Accident

On our way back to Punggol after our lunch; we saw this accident along Tampines Expressway.

My Baptism

I received my baptized today. I slept very well the night before and I don't even have any tensed feeling until I reached the church, I started to get 'gen cheong' (nervous). We(my mum & me) were sitting right at the front row of the hall. As I closed my eyes for prayer, I saw Molly smiling at me. Not sure if it is my imagination but it was so real and the feeling was so good that tears ran down my face.

Looked at the yummy food in the pictures, my godmum bought us lunch at Putien Tampines to celebrate our baptism. There were six of us, my parents, my godmum, fourth aunty, my hubby and me I would like to thank my godmum, my papa, josef, winnie & fourth aunty for attending the ceremony; and of course, godmum for buying us such a wonderful meal. Not forgetting roger (josef's elder brother) for helping us to take pictures of me and my mum.

Garden Of Remembrance

We visited Molly today and Josef joined us too. For a change I bought her some tulip flowers.

My cousin Yee Hwee bought Molly a set of miniature donuts and coffee and she also wrote her a little note.

We have our lunch at Anchor Point, Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe but Josef did not joined us as he has another appointment. We ordered 2 types of fried rice and one of their famous Snow Ice series dessert; 'Mango Snow Ice' (a mountain of flavored ice with your choice of topping), and 3 of us was freezing after that.

Singapore Flyer

Yesterday, after a hearty meal bought by Zainal at Sakura, we (VM guys) headed for a ride at the Singapore Flyer.
Singapore Flyer is the world's largest observation wheel. Standing at a stunning 165m from the ground, the Flyer offers you breathtaking, panoramic views of the Marina Bay, our island city and beyond. The ride is slow and takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Would I go again? Probably not because just once is enough to know what the ride is all about.
But I did enjoy the company of the VM guys.

Batam Trip 6-7 Dec

Me and my hubby just came back from our 2 days 1 night trip to Batam, Indonesia.

We tried checking in upon reaching the Holiday Inn Resort but we were too early as the check in timing was 2pm, so we decided to head downtown area for lunch and shopping since we have never been to Batam before. We took a shuttle service from the resort to the town (SGD$8 per pax for 2 way trip). For our lunch at Nagoya Hill shopping center, I had Ayam Penyet (15,500 Rupiah, around SGD$2 +) the serving size was quite small as compared to the one at Lucky Plaza (in Orchard), that explains why the people there are so slim. My hubby ate the Chicken Nasi goreng (14,900 Rupiah, around SGD$2 + and with discount too) plus a cup of chendol(8,000 Rupiah, around SGD$1) which both of us shared.

We were so happy as we came across an A&W there, you simply cannot find this fast food in Singapore anymore so who can resisted the all round original A&W root beer float....ahhhh~? I had the root beer float and my hubby took the ice-cream waffles (tasted a bit salty though).

This was where we stayed, we came back to the hotel around 4pm to check in and was given a free upgrade to a deluxe room, yippee :)

We have our first massage yesterday, I had never tried massage as I was afraid of the pain. My hubby tried very hard to persuaded me and he won. I have the Javanese package and my hubby the Balinese techniques and both using the essential oils to help release muscle tension to improve blood circulation; we paid 1161600 Rupiah (SGD$145.20) for the total bill. Ask me how I feel after the massage? I would said "VERY PAINFUL" and asked me again whether I will go for another one, I will consider maybe ;p

More pictures of the wonderful moments...
