我是贪吃鬼 I'm A Greedy Pig

I'm feeling ultra super hungry in the office this morning even though I have taken my breakfast at home. I saw 2 packets of Mini Oreo Cookies near the fridge and I simply could not resist it; furthermore I could hear the Oreo cookies calling out to me..."Eat me, eat me". But right before I open the packet I double check on the ingredients used (must be careful cos alot of food came from china). Haiya, even if there's Melanine tainted content it also will not be printed on it (silly me~). Moreover Soon Teck told me that Oreo is not on the dangerous food list. Okay then I shall finished it since I'm so... hungry. (Btw, I only took one packet)

After finishing the entire packet of Oreo, I looked at the packet again oh no...!!! Si liao (Die)! The Oreo cookies had expired! How? I got a weak and sensitiive stomach so in case anything happen to me anytime later today, I have made an entry here 证据! :(

Last Issue of Vanilla Magazine

Went to Kinokuniya during lunch break. I was shocked to find out that the October issue of Vanilla magazine is going to be their final one. MediaCorp has decided to close it down. This is the magazine that has awarded Molly with the Singapore Woman Award 2008 and had also featured her many times.
Once again, a big thank you for featuring Molly in your magazine.

Streets Cafe Restaurant Again

After visiting Molly we went to the Streets Cafe Restaurant at IMM again but this time with my in-laws. We ordered XO Seafood Fried Rice, Curry Seafood Fried Rice, Steamed Siew Mai & Pork Ribs, Pork Floss French toast, Hong Kong Ying Yang (a 2-in drink, coffee mix with tea) and a bottle of Iced Lime tea.

Pink Roses For Molly

Wanton Noodles

Went to my in-law place at Ubi this morning. Every time when I was there I will definitely patronize the wanton noodle at their coffee shop. I like the noodles because it has a very "gu zhao wei"(authentic taste).

Jia lat Rain

Heavy downpour early this morning created havoc with the morning rush hour traffic, causing massive jams and several accidents on the roads. We were traveling along our usual route to office and were caught in a massive flood along Orchard Road in front of the Marriot Hotel; the flood was raising fast and furious, 2 cars were stalled right in front of us in a slightly more than ankle deep pool of muddy water. We were hesitating (afraid we will be the third victim to be stuck in the flood) but buses and cars were piling behind us, horning impatienly. "Jia Lat liao, cannot reverse, die die have to proceed forward". Bo bian my hubby decided to swtich to manual gear (for more power); and step ultra hard on the accelator and woah whew!!! We were as if driving into the sea, big pool of water splashing high onto our windscreen, blocking out our front view, and fortunately we survived through and make it safely to our destination. What a ride.

3 Little Fibroids Sitting On The Wall

I have uterine fibroid for the past 2 years, it started with 2 and now 3 (the biggest is about 5cm and the others 2-3cm). They are all located on the wall of my womb. I did my routine ultrasound scanning of the pelvis every half a year just to monitor it, conducted a scanned today; and the next one will be on the 20th of Mar 2009.

Uterine fibroids are growths of tissue that are usually found in the wall of the uterus, or womb. They are made of a mixture of muscle tissue from the uterus and threadlike fibers of connective tissue. No one knows exactly why they grow, but their growth is related to female hormones such as estrogen and progestogen. Those who are close to menopause usually do not need surgery as the fibroid shrink once the level of the hormone oestrogen declines. Aiya for me I still have to wait for many years before this could happen to me :(
Symptoms of fibroid include: Sensation of fullness or pressure in lower abdomen, menstrual pains, abdominal fullness/distension, urinary problems. Abnormal menstruation – including heavy periods (sometimes with clots) or irregular periods. Abdominal pain.
Complications of fibroid include: Infertility, pregnancy problems, cancerous changes may occur. A definite diagnosis is usually not made until the time of surgery.
I hope that the fibriods will not grow any bigger.

Sushi Making

Soon Teck(aka xiaodi) and Clarisse(aka xiaomei) came over to my place for a sushi making session. Both of them had never make sushi before so it was fun to do it together.

Sushi making in the process...

Ta da! The final product, looks yummy isn't it?

After the sushi making, we brought them to Punggol jetty; it was their first visit there.

Nice weather today, see the sunlight shining through the clouds.

We proceed to Punggol Marina Country Club, and we headed back home after that.

Pyogenic Granuloma What?

About 5 months ago(when Molly was admitted at KK for fluid drainage), I kana a cut on the right side of my face near to the ear area and the weird thing was I did not even know how did I got it. Even though it was a small cut it but it bled alot; the nurse was helpful enough to clean up the cut and put on a bandage for me. The cut did not recover since then and had became a growth.
I have fixed an appointment to see the doctor at the National Skin Centre this afternoon and the doctor told me that the growth is called a "Pyogenic Granuloma", mmm... what is that? Haiya! I don't know?!? Such a weird and long name.
And here is the definition from the Internet:
A pyogenic granuloma is a rapidly growing lesion that bleeds easily. This lesion is common in children and young adults. It often occurs in areas of previous trauma including acne cysts. It is believed that this lesion is formed when capillary blood vessels start growing rapidly in response to trauma to the skin.
A typical pyogenic granuloma is a solitary red papule that grows rapidly over several weeks. It is typically less than 1 cm and has a glistening, moist surface. The base of the lesion is often red and scaly.

I was schedule to do a small operation(about 10 mins) on 21 Nov to remove the growth and this "it" will be removed by shaving it off and cauterizing the base with electrosurgery. Hopefully not a painful one :(

Cheeky Molly

This is the cheeky side of Molly. We took this on the ferry on our way back from Bintan last year. Molly wanted me to look away from the camera while she pretended to stalk at me. I almost cry when I looked at the photo because those memories were still so fresh.

High Heels For Your Baby?

Yes, it's high heels for babies. I think these funny shoes will make any baby girl look like miss piggy (if she is wearing the pink one of cos) heehee... these shoes are expensive, is US$35 = SGD50.2 a pair!
The shoes was created by Britta Bacon and Hayden Porter and was manufactured by a company called Heelarious. In the two weeks since they hit the market, the shoes are selling like "wildfire" in 22 US states and overseas.
The soft shoe is actually a bootie that comes in five styles, each with a name: "Brooke" is a leopard print, "Elle" is pink, "Kate" is black satin, "Kayla" is zebra satin, "She's a Little Lady" is black patent leather and "Sophie" is hot pink satin. Would you buy a pair for your baby girl?

Fancy Delight

Bought these egg tarts from Fancy Delight at Takashimaya Moon Cake Fair. Each of the egg tart stood about 6cm tall and 4cm wide and the pastry is crumbly and crispy. My hubby and me like the satay and curry chicken egg tart because the taste is stronger. The mushroom chicken filling taste more like a quiche than a egg tart and as for the pepper chicken, no pepper taste at all :( Beside the basic taiwanese egg tart, there are other filling such as kiwi, blueberry, strawberry, banana, melting chocolate and many more which I will probably try next time.

Hong Kong "Moon" Cake

In both Chinese and Western cultures, the bum is sometimes referred to as the "moon". This is the collection of four styles celebrating the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, also known as Mid-Autumn Festival, when the moon is at its brightest.
Each moon cake is individually packed, there is no indication on the box as to the exact style of the content, in order to collect the whole series, customers are required to take chances when buying thus heightening the fun factor.

Thank you Little sister for sharing this article :)

First Moon Cake

Xiao Di bought me this, is the first Moon Cake I ever received from a colleague.
Thank you Xiao Di for the lovely Moon Cake.

Xiao Zhu Zhu Moon Cake

I like this traditional "Xiao Zhu Zhu"(piggy shaped) Moon Cake and they are usually packed in different colorful cages. Every year without fail my hubby will surly get one for me :)

This is a card for Molly from
Yee Hwee. According to Yee Hwee the pair of wings(cotton wool) were added to the card because it will then fly to heaven to deliver it for Molly :)

Happened to see this mama dog and her new born puppies, took this photo before we left the garden of remembrance.

Toilet Food?

"Modern Toilet" is located in Taipei, this restaurant’s theme is of course the toilet. Customers sit on toilet bowl shaped stools, eat their food out of dishes resembling male urinals, toilet bowls or bathtubs. They drink out of mini toilet bowls and toilet paper is used in place of napkins. Even the food itself is designed to look like what comes out after you eat a meal. Some of the most popular meals are curry dishes. The chocolate ice-cream is another popular dish.
The restaurant is very popular among young people. It is also a popular family destination and apparently the food is very good. The place has since expanded to a few other locations around Taiwan.
If you ask me whether I want to dine there, I will probably said no because by looking at it I have already lost my appetite.

My Desk

This is my work station, heehee... abit messy!

Sushi or Candy?

It is 100% candy. Surprise? So pretty, don't think I want to eat them. These pretty sushi were created by two sisters in a tiny kitchen of Suedy's Koo-Ki Sushi in San Jose. The Salmon roe is apricot gummies over a rice cookie wrapped in chocolate. The shrimp is white chocolate with a creamy almond filling. Even the ginger and wasabi side pieces are flavorful candy delights. Too bad they don't deliver outside United State.

Indeed Dangerous

I found something very ironic when I flipped through this morning paper. A movie call ‘Dangerous Bangkok’ acted by Nicolas Cage and Charlie Yeung is showing in our local cinema right now. At this moment, U.S. Embassy has warned its citizens on Tuesday of the potential for violence in Bangkok, while Singapore and South Korea urged against any travel to Thailand after the government imposed a state of emergency. What a right time to launch this movie.

Fluffy & Creamy

Took these clouds pictures inside our car this morning. The clouds were so fluffy & creamy.
