MacRitchie Reservoir

After visited Molly, we headed to MacRitchie Reservoir for an afternoon walk. Beside my mum, Desmond and me; Aunty Jean, Yee Hwee, Uncle Sikang and his sister also joined us. It was an exciting trek, we saw alot of monkeys along the way at the reservoir, those monkeys were not afraid of humans at all. At one time, one of the monkey was so hungry i guess that she snatched 2 packages of our wet tissues from us but thrown aside when she (it was a mummy monkey) realised that it was not an edible item.
We ended our walk pretty early today and this is the shortest and least tired trip we ever had due to some unforeseen funny situation... heehee

*Can't review much on the 'unforeseen situation though otherwise I will get 'beaten up' by Uncle Sikang and Aunty Jean ;P

Yee Hwee bought Molly a tub of ice-cream.

As for me, I bought her some white roses.

Departures

Have been wanting to catch 'Departures' and finally seen it yesterday with my hubby. I enjoyed the movie, it was a meaningful movie full of tears and laughter. I loved the music soundtrack composed by Hisaishi Joe, he composed music for some of the popular animations like 'Castle In The Sky', 'Spirited Away', 'Howl's Moving Castle' etc... This movie touched my heart, especially when my loved one had just passed away recently.

This story is about a cellist (Daigo) who loses his job and must move back to his hometown. Once back there he reconnects with his past, and comes to terms with his life, love and dreams. Desperate to find a job, he answers an ad list on departures, which turns out to be misspelled. It was supposed to say the departed, the job pertains to dressing, washing, and putting makeup on the deceased before the funeral. It is a job that most people look down upon because you earn money when someone dies. At first Daigo, does not like his job but little by little he comes to a new understanding of it. The process of prepping the corpse is shown in detail within the context of the story, and little by little we too as an audience get sucked in. It is an incredible ceremony to witness.

"I sobbed silently in my sit when I watched this movie, tears flowed down my cheeks, i cried with Molly's images filled in my mind and heart".

For those who intend to watch this movie, do remember to bring along an extra package of tissue, better still bring a towel.

The Molly Lee Appeal

Just to share a piece of good news. This morning, I received an email from Josef that KKH had decided to go ahead with a cancer fund targeting on young women (18 - 50 years old) and this fund will be named after Molly, call "The Molly Lee Appeal", in aid of the KK Hospital Endowment Fund.

I think Molly must be very happy to know about this.
With the fund being set up, everyone will remember Molly forever...

White Dog Cafe

White Dog Cafe is located at the second level of Vivo City. We (my mum, Yee Hwee, Aunty Jean and me) decided to have our lunch there since Yee Hwee was craving for western food.
The place is a Swensens alike family restaurant. We ordered a set lunch ($11.80++) and 2 side dishes to share. For the main course which we opt for the dory fish; a cup of coffee, a soup of the day but we topped up $2++ for the cream of mushroom. As for the side dishes, we ordered the deep fried calamari, it tasted good but for the mango chicken, it was disappointing because the meat tasted bland and there wasn't any taste of mango at all.
I also don't like their service, the waitress was so eager to clear our plates even through my mum was still eating; I think i will never patronize White Dog Cafe ever again.

The Singapore Woman Award 2009

The Singapore Woman Award is here again. Molly was the first woman to win this honorable title. I still have the video that I had recorded from the tv using my mobile phone. Yesterday I managed to view the video of last year event in Channel NewsAsia website :) I could still clearly recall the night after the result was announced, Molly smsed to me and said "I hv won! I got a shock! she was so thrilled and excited that she had won the award and it just feels like it happened not long ago.

Channel NewsAsia salutes the Singapore Woman - a gifted woman whose exceptional achievements in a variety of fields provides inspiration to many others. You know of such an exceptional woman? Or are you such a woman yourself? It's now time to honour women's achievements.

Seoul Yummy @ Square 2

Today, Aunty Jean buy us dinner at Seoul Yummy located at Square 2 as she was craving for the korean side dishes after our lasted visited to Han Sang Korean Family Restaurant 2 months ago. I personally preferred Seoul Yummy then Han Sang because of its affordable rate and the taste of food is lighter. The 6 side dishes are refillable and I particularly like the potato salad with egg. Food is nice and price is quite reasonable. I would definitely go back there again.

Kawaii Phone Charm

One of my favorite food, miniature tempura.

So retro! I like the tin box candy and the chewing gum.

Popular Japanese snacks from the 70s to 80s.

The fish pancake looks so real.
If I have the chance to go Japan, I will definitely bring back lots of it :)

It has an object-sensitive censor in the eyes so once you reach your hand to feed it a coin, it opens the mouth! Face Bank burps and sometimes even farts! heehee...

HK Kim Gary Restaurant

I have been to HK Kim Gary Restaurant a few times with my mum, Molly, my hubby & Yee Hwee. And today after church I was there again with my mum.
We had the Japanese bean-curd with abalone mushroom, shredded pork and fried egg with chinese mushroom rice, soup noodle with minced pork & vegetable wanton & fresh lemon ribena blended.
I always wanted to revisit places which I ever been to with Molly just to remember those precious moment.
