Bye Bye Xiaohei

We sold our car, Xiaohei (Little Blackie).

We will be handling our baobei (precious) Xiaohei to the car agent later this afternoon. He will be exporting him to other parts of the world, where? We won't know. We had him for almost 5 years. He had served us well, even went through Molly's cancer journey with us, he chauffeured Molly with safety thru and from hospital. Molly is no longer with us and now is Xiaohei. He shared our joy, sadness and many moments in our life together. How I wish that we can still keep him, both my hubby and me feel sad, we can't bare to send him away :(

Muffin VS Monkey

Who will win?

Both my hubby and I went over to Molly's place today. I was surprised to see the size of Muffin, she was so much bigger now(double the size from the lasted time), her leg was like a big chicken drumstick. According to Josef, Muffin will hide from some visitor but she did not do so today. She kept following us and moving around our legs, think she liked us :)

My Christmas Gifts

These are the Christmas gifts I had received this year.
Will be receiving another one from Aunty Jean tomorrow heehee...

Cousin Hui Fen & Wai Man Wedding Dinner

This is my cousin Huifen & Wai Man, it is their Big Day today.

My mum, my hubby and me attended her wedding dinner at the Regent.

My cousin Huifen's younger brother Wee Hong.

Avatar

Both my hubby and me were on leave today, we went to Downtown East to watch Avatar. We paid $13 per ticket to experience the 3D effect. The lasted 3D movie I had ever watched was Jaws(during the '80s), i remembered watching it with Molly, my cousin Ah Boy & Ah P, my mum and godmum. The 3D glasses at that time was made of paper and cost 50cents each,
considered quite expensive during that period and we even had to share the glasses.
The 3D glasses definitely has gotten better in terms of quality but after finishing the 161minutes movie, I feel a headache and eyes popping, the glasses is not comfortable at all. Don't think I will watch any more 3D movie again since I had already experience it.

Me in the 3D glasses, heehee...

Avatar is the story of an ex-Marine who finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms. As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people. More than ten years in the making, Avatar marks Cameron's return to feature directing since helming 1997's Titanic, the highest grossing film of all time and winner of eleven Oscars including Best Picture. WETA Digital, renowned for its work in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and King Kong, will incorporate new intuitive CGI technologies to transform the environments and characters into photo realistic 3D imagery that will transport the audience into the alien world rich with imaginative vistas, creatures and characters.
The show is entertaining, the computer graphics is fantastic, especially the night scene and no wonder it took 15 years to make this movie.

At The Church Today

Every Sunday, whenever I meet Molly's mother-in-law in the church (we are all from the same church), she will always call me as 'jiejie' (sister, as I'm Molly's sister), follow by asking me 'hao ma' (how are you)? But she did something different today, she touched my cheek. The first thing that came into my mind when she touched my cheek was that, she might be missing Molly as I resemble her quite abit. I don't mind at all, so long as people around me able to remember Molly forever. Molly used to tell me that her mother-in-law doted her alot and Molly respected her too.

My Ho Mia Hamsters

Give my hamster a brand new type of bedding today, it has a nice scent of rose bedding with real rose petals! How I wish I'm one of the hamster, so ho mai(Good life). It was Aunty Jean who bought it for my hamster and cost her $20 over dollars, expensive lor for such a small pack!!!

Case 39

My hubby & me catch a movie 'Case 39' at Downtown East today. Is a psychological thriller suspend cum horror movie staring Renee Zellweger. She hasn't starred in a horror film since the beginning of her career, but she makes a return to the genre with this creepy thriller. The Oscar-winning actress plays a social worker whose attempts to save a young girl (Jodelle Ferland, TIDELAND) from abuse may be misguided.

$3 Big Pao

The producer Ee Moan & Huiyin from August Pictures came over to our house this morning to gather more information for the upcoming programme. After settling it, they proceed on to Molly's place to meet up with Josef .
The 3 of us (my mum, hubby & me) decided to have our lunch cum dinner at Changi Village. We had our favourite Nasi Lemak, Chwee kueh, Fried Oyster egg, Ipoh Horfan and a coconut juice.

After the oily & sinful meal, we decided to take a stroll around Changi Village. We came onto a store called "Johore Bao", and they sell all sorts of bao, its freshly make and we bought one gigantic bao. Look at the size of it (above pic), the bao is named after a Hong Kong busom actress "Ye Zi Mei Bao". I took a measurement and it's a whopping 5" in diameter. It tastes ok, with pork and chicken filling in it.

Like my coffee table?
Me and my hubby did the makeover that took us about half an hour. We have been using this coffee table from Ikea for almost 9 years and the colour coating had started to drop off. I have this image printed on backlit and wrapped onto the existing table top, with this we can have different variety of colours & designs to match the seasons and our moods. And fyi, this flora print can last till Chinese New Year, heehee...

I Got It!

Received an sms from Huiyin; the researcher from August Pictures Pte Ltd, half an hour ago. I have been longing for her sms ever since after our last meeting. Yes!!! MediaCorp had finally approved on me & Molly Sisterhood story. I have been taking one step at a time, telling myself to try my best in order not to have any regrets. Not sure what the next step will be but just hope that everything will go smoothly. The 'special gift' has now becomes real for both my mummy and me.

At The Garden Of Remembrance 31 Oct 2009

The 3 of us (mummy, hubby and me) went to visit Molly today.

A Visitor

Today I had a special visitor name Huiyin; she is a freelance Researcher and Script writer from August Pictures Pte Ltd, a production company comissioned by MediaCorp channel 8 to produce a 8-episode upcoming chinese docudrama series "Letter to Heaven" which will be televised Janauary 2010. I have given her the letter (in chinese) write up and she's here today to find out more details and indepth relationship between me and Molly . Having to write in chinese is never an easy matter and proven to be quite a challenge for me; as I constantly require to refer to the chinese-english dictionary. I spend around 2 weeks drafting and writing it till 1am in the morning for almost every night.
The content will forcus on how me and our family tried to move on, updates, reflections on relationship, and well wishes to Molly. Once the letter is confirmed, I will be interview on TV in Mandarin (i really wish) and my letter will be unfold through re-enactments, dramatisations and with symbolic shots, in tandem with voice-overs of first-person narrations taken directly from the original letter.
Of course, I will want Mediacorp to confirm on my letter as it will be a very special gift for my mummy and me. But if they rejected I should be able to get over as I had already tried my best.(finger cross)

Our Favourite Drink

Orangina, me & Molly's favourite drink. She would offered me this drink whenever I drop over at her place.

Do I Look Like An Aunty???

Over the last weekend was the yearly Metro Expo Sale, all the executives & above in Metro were required to be on duty either on saturday or sunday, we have to draw lots for it. We were being assigned to station at a designated cashier counter as a 'packer' to help the cashier. It was pretty interesting, you can see all sorts of customers; some asked for more carrier bags, acted like you owe them money, very demanding. Then came an old man in his 60s, he bought quite a bit of stuffs, as I was packing his goods into the carrier bag after the scanning. His wife handed 3 big granny panties

to the cashier, after being scanned, the cashier passed it to me, and I put it together with the rest of the purchase. The old man shaked his head and looked at me angrily and said "Aunty, the packet of food (please see picture below) is use for praying, how can you put the panties together with that"?

I was dumbfound upon hearing, I calmed myself down and did not said a word. I told myself "No...better 'tahan' and keep quiet, don't create trouble". I then packed the packet of nuts into another smaller bag and gave it to him and said it loud and clear "Thank you, Uncle", the funny thing was that he throw the packet of nuts back into the same bag, isn't it the same? And till now I'm still thinking do people offer nuts to their god. hmm...
Is not easy being a sales person as you may encounter nasty, unreasonable customers and you probably need to have lots of patience for that no doubt there are some good ones too :)

Hurt Locker

Me & my hubby watched Hurt Locker at Cathay Downtown East. The movie is great, it is an intense portrayal of elite soldiers (I like soldiers movie) who have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world: disarming bombs in the heat of combat. When a new wacky sergeant, James, takes over a highly trained bomb disposal team amidst violent conflict, he surprises his two subordinates, Sanborn and Eldridge, by recklessly plunging them into a deadly game of urban combat. James behaves as if he's indifferent to death. As the men struggle to control their wild new leader, the city explodes into chaos, and James' true character reveals itself in a way that will change each man forever. Nice.

Lunch At Ajisen IMM

After Garden Of Remembrance, we headed down to IMM for our brunch at Ajisen.

At The Garden Of Remembrance 17 Oct 2009

My parent, my hubby and me visited Molly today and my mum actually bought carnation for her.
'Why did you buy carnation?' I asked.
'No I did not. This isn't carnation', she denied confidently.
Yesterday at the florist, the florist asked her if she wanted carnation? And my mum replied 'No', but somehow it turns out to be carnation. She is so funny, and blur blur like a sotong :)

Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai Trip 5 - 9 Aug '09 (Last day)

A last minute shopping before we checked out from the hotel.

We have our lunch at one of the Japanese restaurant in Airport Plaza. It was quite cheap and the portion was big too.

Heading back home. Sigh~ have to go back to our normal life routinue again.

Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai Trip 5 - 9 Aug '09 (Day 4)

The hotel provide shuttle service to Airport Plaza (shopping mall). We ate quite alots of the Thai food and dessert at the mall. The mango, gluttious rice with coconut milk was the best I had :)

We stayed in Duangtawan hotel for this trip and had our dinner at the highest floor. It was elegant and stylish, with its unmatched panoramic view of the tranquil city.

Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai Trip 5 - 9 Aug '09 (Day 3)

This is the 'Mae Kajan' hot spring and is my first time at a hot spring.

The 'White Temple', I love this temple, this temple is unlike any other temples I've seen so far. The construction was took place back in 1998 and is still going on. The temple is totally white in color and cover with little mirror tiles. When you enter the temple you have to cross a bridge and beneath it there are a lot of hands grasping up into the air resembling desire or greed. Also most of the statues are pretty scary and decorated with skulls and devil like creatures. Once inside the temple the mural paintings are very modern. There is a picture of a plane crashing into the twin towers with two monsters coming out of the buildings and there are spaceships and stuff.

This is Chiangrai, we have our lunch here. It gives me a 70s feel of Singapore.

We even have the chance to step into Lao, went there by boat. They are building a casino there.

At the Golden Triangle (the gate of the borders in Thailand, Burma and Lao) at the intersection between the Mekong river and Kong river.

At 'Mae Sai', the northermost town of Thailand.
