About 5 months ago(when Molly was admitted at KK for fluid drainage), I kana a cut on the right side of my face near to the ear area and the weird thing was I did not even know how did I got it. Even though it was a small cut it but it bled alot; the nurse was helpful enough to clean up the cut and put on a bandage for me. The cut did not recover since then and had became a growth.
I have fixed an appointment to see the doctor at the National Skin Centre this afternoon and the doctor told me that the growth is called a "Pyogenic Granuloma", mmm... what is that? Haiya! I don't know?!? Such a weird and long name.
And here is the definition from the Internet:
A pyogenic granuloma is a rapidly growing lesion that bleeds easily. This lesion is common in children and young adults. It often occurs in areas of previous trauma including acne cysts. It is believed that this lesion is formed when capillary blood vessels start growing rapidly in response to trauma to the skin. A typical pyogenic granuloma is a solitary red papule that grows rapidly over several weeks. It is typically less than 1 cm and has a glistening, moist surface. The base of the lesion is often red and scaly.
I was schedule to do a small operation(about 10 mins) on 21 Nov to remove the growth and this "it" will be removed by shaving it off and cauterizing the base with electrosurgery. Hopefully not a painful one :(
