to stay strong for my loved ones. to keep my heart open to dreams. For as long as there's a dream, there is hope, and as long as there is hope, there is joy in living.

Molly, Me And The DIY Tree
Molly and me at our grandparent's old kampong house. I was 5 then and Molly was 3, we were sitting on the big speaker (see above pic) and besides us was a Christmas tree which my uncles improvised it by themself from a guava tree. I didn't know that they were so supportive on the recycling programme during that time; I feel so proud of them. heehee :)

Sentosa Here We Come
My hubby and I took a day off from work today and headed to Sentosa! Actually I was there 5 months ago but I had made a promised to Yee Hwee that I will bring her to Sentosa for the Luge & Skyride during her school holiday. We(my mum, my hubby, yee hwee and me) set off to Sentosa around 11am, we decided to drive in to Sentosa since we have never done so and always wanted to do it. We travelled by KJE and found out that the journey was so much shorter than taking ECP and we reached Sentosa around 11:30am. The first item that greeted us inside Sentosa was a bad traffic jam on the way to our destination 'Imbiah Lookout' due to a ongoing construction, we were stucked for more than 15 minutes.
Enjoying ourselves on the Skyride.
Yee Hwee and her favourite fruit.
We posed with the 60s lorry.
Resting at Coffee Bean after the ride, and yee hwee enjoying her cup of ice blended mocha.
Thank you lao gong for all the lovely pictures.

Fish & Co Lunch
After visiting Molly, we have our lunch at Fish & Co in Tampines Mall. Yee Hwee will be staying over at our place for the next 2 days as it is the school holiday. Yee Hwee had her all time favourite Peri Peri Catch - Grilled fish with peri peri sauce, my mum ordered Peri Peri Prawns - Butterflied, grilled & served with peri peri sauce, my hubby had Stingray (Black Pepper) - Grilled on banana leaf & topped with black pepper sauce and me Al Fungi Spaghetti. We had a wonderful dessert to end our meal, the Hot Fudge Cake; it was specially ordered for Yee Hwee to try and she love it very much.

My Pyogenic Granuloma No More...
Try to snap some photos while waiting for the doctor and nurses :)
I was actually quite nervous before going to the surgery and was glad that my hubby took half day leave to accompany me. The whole process took about 10 minutes to complete. The doctor who did the surgery told me that it will not be painful and the only pain I have will be from the anesthetic needle. And guess what, when the needle poked onto my skin and during the shaving biopsy I feel no pain at all :) phew! Maybe my skin is thicker than i think.

Picture of my pyogenic granuloma (in the bottle) to be sent for biopsy and some cleansing solution and ointment to apply.
The total bill was $149.60 but i only paid $61.10 with a government grant of $88.50. I was given a day MC and will be going back for a review in 2 weeks times.

Can I Borrow $25?
SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'
The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25 and he really didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

Big Flash Light
It has been raining for the past 2 days and yesterday just before I went to bed, I saw flashes of lightning filling the quiet dark night. I took out my camera and taken a few snapped of the beautiful sight before turning in.
The lightning last for quite a while and i had this funny feeling as if that the sky was actually taking pictures of us :)

Frozen Goods
Storing Vegetables
1. To make vegetables last long in the refrigerator, dry all the vegetables with napkin or cloth.
2. Wrap celery in aluminum foil before placing in the refrigerator, it will keep for weeks.
3. While storing chillies, removing the stems will keep them fresh for a longer time.
4. To keep garden peas out of the pod looking fresh and beautifully green simply soak them overnight on a bucket of water with some ordinary baking soda mixed in.
5. Don't store potatoes near onions as potatoes rot quickly if stored near onions.
6. If you want leafy vegetables to stay crunchy, cut the stems off and separate the stalks. Add 3/4 cup granulated sugar to a vessel filled with cold water. Now place vegetables in it. Soak for 4-5 hours. Drain well and refrigerate.
7. Crumbled newspapers lining the vegetable compartments of a refrigerator will keep veggies crisp.
8. Keep green beans dry in a perforated plastic bag in the refrigerator. They should stay fresh for 4-5 days.
Here's a guide to how long some common vegetables can be stored in your fridge.

Mao Mao Bibimbap
I did my own version of Bibimbap today. I used ingredients such as carrot, japanese cucumber, japanese rice, fried egg, chicken(ready barbecue from 'Giant', lazy to marinate myself) and most importantly the chilli pepper paste from a Korea store in Orchard Cineleisure. Sprinkle sesame seeds over as a garnish before mixing all the all together. You can even add shitake mushrooms, bean sprouts etc, I will explore to add-on more ingredients the next time :)
$2 Charcoal Mask & Nose Strip
An interesting product caught my attention during my visit to Daiso yesterday, a facial product from Korea that contains charcoal as the main ingredient. My hubby and me each bought a product to try; he gotten himself a nose strip and me, a facial mask. We were so excited to try it out. After applying the black gel like mask on my face, give it a15 minutes to dry. You can feel your skin tighten during the drying process; and once its totally dry up; you can then peel it off. Shiok ah!
My hubby tried this nose strip. He said that this product is able to remove the blackheads and whiteheads quite easily (at least 85% of it).

Losing A Loved Ones
Although your heart is hurting
And you feel you can't go on
Know in that very moment
Your loved one wasn't alone
For God was there beside them
Holding onto their hand
As the time drew nearer
For them to leave this land
He held them close and whispered
"My child, your time is now"
"But how will my loved ones go on?"
He whispered, "I will show them how"
"I will give them strength and love"
And comfort in the night
I will fill their hearts with peace
Knowing you had wings as you took flight
You no longer walk amongst them
For now you fly above
With all my Heavenly angels
Spreading ever lasting and external love
This is a beautiful, comforting poem that I could relate and touched my heart.
Letting go is never easy and each person will have to deal with the losing in his/her own way.
I was very sad and helpless as I watched my only younger sister fight for last breath and for those left behind are the one feeling the pain.

We reached Genting at around 2pm and we had our tea break at the cyber cafe.

Our dinner. A vietnamese waitress approached our table introduced a couple of vietnamese dishes claiming it was better than chinese food; we were doubtful at first and we should have stick to our doubts throughout cos the dishes really sucks!

After our not so wonderful dinner, we decided to pamper our tummy; we bought 2 slices of yummy cake from Coffee Bean. You can see that we are concentrating and busy selecting the cake we want :p

I enjoyed the weather there, the above scenery were taken at our room window on Sunday morning. Doesn't it looks like a painting?

Coincidentally we met both Uncle Meng and his wife there. The 'dim sum' breakfast was on Uncle Meng as he had won some money playing the jackpot, very lucky for him and lucky for us too (our tummy)! The 'dim sum' breakfast was very delicious; and we can't even finished the food.

We (my hubby and me) brought Yee Hwee to the outdoor theme Park Only Yee Hwee and me took the rides, my hubby was the photographer. Yee Hwee like the "Spinner" but not for me as I felt giddy after taking the ride, I think I'm old liao :(
.

We took the "Pirate Ship" too and my legs were jelly after the ride, very lousy!

Yee Hwee tried to hood the duckling and she didn't managed to win anything.

We had our "Matahari" ride; this ride suites me best; it was slow and relaxing.

While at the Dinosaurland; supposingly to take a boat ride around the attraction but due to the slow moving queue, we decided to walk around it instead. We didn't see many dino, just a couple of mini lizards and a weird looking over grown snake. Yawn~

Monday morning, we have a clearer view of the mountain and the clouds look so puffy.
Molly, how I wish that you are still around to travel with us. Even through you can't join us physically, I believe that you are in heaven looking down and sharing the joy with us.
